Dental implants are small artificial titanium devices that are inserted into the bone of the upper and lower jaw. They can look like a hollow cylinder or screw, and their size is very small, similar to that of a natural root. Exaggerated gingival exposure is a situation characterised by too much gingival exposure when smiling. Better aesthetic characteristics are achieved by gingival contouring in order to expose more of the clinical crown.
